Title: Blessing
Fandom: M*A*S*H
Characters: Hawkeye Pierce
Prompt: 020. Colourless
Count: 100 exactly
Rating: Everyone
Disclaimer: Not mine. Don't sue.
Color was no longer simply a rainbow or a pretty girl’s dress. Instead, it was the war, in all its terrible glory. Each one had a different link, revived a different memory—often one best left forgotten. When Hawkeye suffered from the flash burns to his eyes, his world became horribly sightless, leaving him dependant and, to a degree, helpless—but it was also colorless, which, as he admitted only to himself, was a blessing. No color meant no associations with infection and disease and death, free-flowing blood and agony, severed limbs and boys so cold they couldn’t even shiver.
