They're all so ... frightening. The style in which they are written, they're packed with emotion but at the same time they have such a detached, unfeeling sort of sense about them. You've really made them work well in the grander scheme of things. I especially like this:

What if he was queer? All that time, spent in the same tent with a homosexual. He had a wife, two kids. He couldn’t have been queer. Could he?

But like in the sense that I hate the very thought of it. Good stuff =)
