Title: Sunrise
Fandom: M*A*S*H
Characters: Hawkeye Pierce
Prompt: 012. Orange
Count: 117
Rating: Everyone
Disclaimer: Not mine. Don't sue.
Hawkeye had never thought of sunrise as orange before the war. Then again, before Korea, Hawkeye had rarely had cause to think of sunrise except as a time to be asleep. It just happened, and wasn’t something to pay any attention to. The few times he did witness it, staggering from a taxi to his apartment after a thirty-six hour shift, the sky was shot blush-pink and peach. In Korea, though, Hawkeye saw more sunrises than he’d ever wanted to, running for the choppers or leaving the OR. On countless early mornings, Hawkeye noticed the streaks of orange in the eastern sky. He grew to hate the color, signaling as it did the continuing tide of red.
