Title: Shame
Fandom: House
Character: Chase, with sides of Chase/Vogler and, if you squint, House/Chase
Prompt: 023. Lovers
Word Count: 100 exactly
Rating: Everyone
Author's Notes: Spoilerish for episodes from “Control” to “Babies and Bathwater”. Part two in a three-part arc--part one is Rewards, and part three is Respect.
“Do this for me,” Vogler asks, only it’s not really asking, because the threat of losing Vogler’s considerable protection hangs heavily over Chase. It’s not a good position to be in, not at all, and Chase wishes he’d never run to Vogler—better the devil you know, and all that. But it’s a bit late for that now, and he does as Vogler asks (commands), debasing himself for the dubious protection he offers.
And when it’s over and done, Chase is so ashamed of himself that he can’t look in a mirror, let alone House’s sharp, knowing, betrayed blue eyes.
